Crushed violets infuse black cherries, blueberry and iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very well-judged acidity, an elegant and very charming Margaux with pencil lead and a touch of spice on the long finish. What a brilliant wine from a Margaux estate that has really upped its game.

Produced in the Margaux appellation, Château Labegorce's name stem from "thorny bush". The vineyard of 65 hectares, has vines that are 30 years old on average, and is planted on sandy gravel. Harvest occurred from October 4-21. Wine is aged in French oak barrels (45% are new). The 2016 vintage is a blend of Merlot 52%, Cabernet Sauvignon 38%, Cabernet Franc 6% and Petit Verdot 4%.
