Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with wild blueberries and black cherries with cassis, bay leaves and dark chocolate nuances plus a hint of charcoal. Medium-bodied with a lively backbone and solid frame of ripe, rounded tannins, it finishes with an herbal lift.
Château Malartic-Lagraviere red 2016 is produced in the Pessac-Leognan appellation. This vineyard of 46 hectares has vines that are, on average, 31 years old. The soil is composed of gravel, on a bed of limestone and clay. Château Malartic-Lagraviere is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The wine is aged on fine lees in oak barrels (80% in new barrels).
