Deep ruby red in colour. Warm and enticing berry aromas frame a picture of mocha chocolate, sun ripened plums, cassis and rose winemary. Round, soft and generous, the flavours lead with summer plum and berry compote, vanilla and boysenberry. Hints of mocha chocolate complement the velvet finish. This is a wine with broad shoulders and a straight back, akin to the character of our loyal Barossa growers.
Our vineyards across the Barossa experienced a cold winter with lower rainfall. Dry and warm conditions, particularly before Christmas 2015 resulted in a vintage that was two weeks earlier than average. These dry and warm conditions meant the vineyards were able to ripen the grapes seamlessly, producing an abundance of flavour.
