The Syrah is dominated by red and black berry aromas (raspberries, blackcurrants and bilberries) supported by rich tannins that make this a hearty, full-bodied wine. We recommend to taste this wine at 14-15 °C.
It was thought to have originated in the East, in the Iranian town of Chiraz. However, in 1998, genetic research identified with certainty that Syrah comes from the northern part of the Côtes du Rhône and that it is a natural cross between Dureza and Mondeuse Blanche.
Nearly 50,000 hectares are currently planted in France where most of the Syrah is selected to make our wines.
