Deep and glittering red with a purple hue.
The fresh, intense, and fruit-forward nose reveals aromas of blackberry fruit, especially blackberry and black plums as well as spicy notes of black pepper, rosemary, and clove together with subtle notes of coffee and vanilla that come from time spent in oak.
The soft attack leads into a mid-palate sustained by smooth and gentle tannins as the blackberry fruit flavors found on the nose return alongside notes of spice. Good acidity on the long and persistent finish enhances the overall impression of freshness.
In order to give the wine its fruit-driven, complex style, the 70% of the vintage is matured in old oak French barrels for 10 months before bottling.
