TASTING NOTES
Aspect: An intense red with a purple tint.
Nose: The nose opens on ripe red fruit aromas which mingle on airing with subtle notes of crisp black fruit.
Palate: A well-rounded attack on ripe red fruit flavours such as raspberry and Morello cherry leads into a focused palate sustained by flavours of black fruit such as bilberry and blackcurrant, together with subtle spice. Red fruit flavours return on the powerful and fresh finish, mingled with lingering spice notes.
DESCRIPTION
Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet is the biggest-selling Bordeaux brand in the world. It was set up in 1930 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, who had taken over control of Mouton Rothschild eight years previously. The name Cadet refers to the youngest son of a family, in this case invoking both Philippe and the wine itself.
