Tall Horse wines are exported to over forty countries all over the world after leaving vineyards grown in near perfect conditions for wine grapes. Since 2005, this authentic, unique African wine has been produced and distributed Tall Horse Merlot, Tall Horse Cabernet Sauvignon, Tall Horse Chardonnay, Tall Horse Sauvignon Blanc, Tall Horse Shiraz, Tall Horse Pinotage, and Tall Horse Chenin Blanc.
Tall Horse Pinotage 2013 is deep red with a tinge of purple to the rim oozing sweet cherry, dark chocolate, and roast coffee bean appeal offset by well-integrated savoury oak spice facets and a rambunctious fruity finish. This wine’s grapes are left to ferment for seven days on their skins at 28 Degrees Celsius with three separate aerations per day. After the pressing process has been completed, the young wine goes through a process of malolactic fermentation on French oak staves, where they are left for an additional 3 months. Intrinsic cultivar traits are conserved by using a very light filtration process before the wine is bottled.
Tall Horse wines are for those who like to enjoy a good glass of quality vino, without all the nose-in-the-air-ness that seems to follow other wines around. We’re all for wines that are easier to drink than they are to pronounce. Tall Horse wines come from South Africa. The grapes grow in vineyards with near-perfect conditions in the Western Cape wine lands. From the slopes of the Cape Mountains caressed by cooling sea breezes, the vines drink in the winter rainfall and bask in the long summer sunshine hours allowing fantastic ripe expression of variety and land.
The Tall Horse Pinotage 2013 is best enjoyed within the first year or two of vintage when the fruit is most fresh and vibrant. Serve chilled for effortless social enjoyment or with fish and chips, roast chicken, or macaroni & cheese.
