Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Poujeaux is scented of fried herbs, tar and earth with baked plums and a waft of rocks. The palate is medium-bodied, firm, chewy and herbal.
Château Poujeaux is a 68 hectare vineyard located in the Moulis-en-Medoc appellation. The vines are 35 years old, on average, and planted on günzian gravel from the Garonne. Maturation occurs in barrels (30% are new) for 12 months. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.
