Porto Ramos Pinto Tawny ages, in average, three years in small barrels of French oak in the cellars of Ramos Pinto in Vila Nova de Gaia. As the ageing of the wines inside the wood barrel increase, it is the loss of the red colour evolving into the Tawny colour, while losing the deposit in the barrel. After three years of ageing, the wines are then blended a few months before bottling for balance and harmony.
