TASTING NOTES
This is an elegant wine that features a perfect balance between freshness and sweetness. The mouth is round and lightly acidulous, structured on white fruit mingled with hints of citrus and exotic fruit and with a smooth and crisp finish
DESCRIPTION
Colombelle was born in 1987 in the heart of Gascony, in the South-west of France. She then spread all over the world. The Colombelle wines are dry whites, crisp and fresh, with unique aromatic qualities thanks to indigenous Gascony grape varieties like Colombard and Ugni Blanc.
In 2009, a new cuvee called “Soleil Gascon” was born: a sweet white, round and fresh, made up with Gros Manseng , slightly over-ripe. Mid-October is indeed the perfect time of year when the concentration in the grapes is the most important: it is then time to harvest
INFORMATION DETAILS
Based on a selection of clay-limestone plots of Gros Manseng, this late harvest begins a month after the maturation date in order to get the best concentration and aromatic complexity from the grapes. The regular control of grape maturation allows to harvest at the best date and thus the expression of over-ripe aromas (citrus, spices). The Gros Manseng gives floral aromas and nicely round mouth.
