Overview
Located in eastern Guatemala, 229m above sea level, is the town of Zacapa. Established in 1876 as a bustling train stop, it is visited by tourists from all over the world. In 1976, the town reached its centenary. To commemorate this historic event, Guatemala's leading rum company decided to create something special. By exploiting the expertise acquired over many years, a unique premium wine was born - Ron Zacapa Centenario. It is the specific combination of Guatemala's soil, climate and altitude, coupled with Master Blender's unusual level of control over the production and aging process, that allows us to create what is recognized widely considered the best rum in the world. New Zacapa is aged for up to 12 years in Ex-Bourbon barrels, Jerez barrels and American oak barrels.
